Zoning Administrator

Milton Township is a zoned community; with being zoned we have a zoning administrator that serves as the coordinator of many land use and community oriented issues in the Township. Such as Planning Commission Application reviews, Zoning Appeal process, Land Division Reviews/approvals, Land Use Permits and the constant updating of the Zoning Ordinance and Master Plan. If you have a matter that you would like to have placed on the Planning Commission or Zoning Board of Appeals Agenda please see our Zoning Administrator, Chris Weinzapfel for an Application. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact us at the phone number above or email us.

Zoning Permit Requirements

A Zoning Permit must be obtained from the Zoning Administrator prior to the issuance of a Building Permit. All applications for zoning permits must be accompanied by plans and specifications including a plot plan, in triplicate, drawn to scale, showing the following:

  1. The actual shape, location, dimensions of the lot, and setbacks must be shown (setbacks are measured from the road right of way or/and normal high water).

  2. The shape, size, and location of all buildings or other structures to be erected, altered, or moved and of any building or other structures already on the lot.

  3. The existing and intended use of the lot and of all such structures upon it, including, in residential areas, the number of dwelling units the building is intended to accommodate.

  4. Such other information concerning the lot or adjoining lots as may be essential for determining whether the provisions of the Milton Township Zoning Ordinance are being observed.
